Obituary of Marcella Karwoski

Marcella V. Karwoski, age 98, of Bath, NY, died Sunday, January 21, 2018 at the Taylor Health Center of Bath, NY. She was born January 24, 1919 in Smoke Run, PA the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Terlesky) Potkalesky. She retired from Philips Lighting of Bath. Mrs. Karwoski was an avid card player and was always ready for the next game. She enjoyed going to the casino and playing cards. She was an advocate of education and made numerous contributions to the system through the NYS Lottery. She was a very active, 60 year member of the North Cameron Grange, a member of the Pomona Grange and a member of St. John Vianney Parish.

She is survived by her daughter Betty Orcutt; grandchildren and great grandchildren, Joe Orcutt and his children, Alexis and Jacob, Steven Orcutt and his daughter Claire and Tim (Patricia) Orcutt and their children; her sisters, Elizabeth Jozak of NJ and Theresa (Milton) Davis of PA, brother-in-law, Raymond Karwoski and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph in 1992, also her parents; sisters, Cecelia Silkiewicz and Josephine Bednarz; brothers, Victor, Michael and Anthony Potkalesky and son-in-law, Glenn Orcutt in 1993.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, January 26, 2018 from 12:00-2:00 and 5:00-7:00 pm at Fagan's Funeral Home in Bath. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday January 27th at St. Mary's Church, Bath, with Father James Jaeger as celebrant, assisted by Deacon Dave Lafortune. A graveside service will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Bath. Donations can be made to the North Cameron Grange and St. John Vianney Parish.
