Obituary of George Buck

George L. Buck, 88, passed away peacefully with family present on December 25th 2017 at the Bath VA Community Living Center. George was born April 3, 1929 in Addison, New York, the son of Arthur Raymond Buck and Cora Bell (Nelson) Buck. George graduated from Campbell Central School.

 

George and Lucille Olney were married February 16, 1953 in Campbell, New York and celebrated 65 years of marriage this year.  George served in the US Army from January 1951 to 1953 and is an honorably discharged Korean War Veteran. George worked as a dairy farmer his entire life.  George also worked at McConnell’s Manufacturing where he worked in the manufacturing of specialized farm equipment.  George also loved his family and animals, especially his cats. 

 

He is survived by his loving wife Lucille and children: Karen (Leo) Downey, Ronald (Donna) Buck, George G. Buck, Cindy (Delbert) Sheard, Jeffrey G. Buck, Margaret Carson, Roger Buck, Matthew Buck, and Gregory Buck. He also leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters-in-law, Joan (Robert) Buck, and Virginia (Carl) Buck. George was predeceased by his parents Arthur Buck and Cora Belle (Nelson) Buck, 7 brothers and sisters, Raymond, Archie, Robert, Kennett, Carl, Donald, Bessie White, and Blanche Tobias. He is also predeceased by his beloved son, Bernard G. Buck. 

 

George will be greatly missed for his warm smile, generosity and kind heart. 

 

A mass was held at St. Mary's Church in Bath, NY with burial at Bath National Cemetery. 

 

Memorial contributions in George's name may be made to the Finger Lakes SPCA, 72 Cameron St., Bath, NY 14810.
