Samuel D'Angelo, age 84, of Bath, NY died Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at the Steuben Center in Bath. He was born April 27, 1934 in Buffalo, NY the son of Crispino and Carmela Mary (Vizzi) D'Angelo. Sam retired from Mercury Aircraft after 44 years of employment. He was a Past Police Commissioner in Bath and owner of D'Angelo's Restaurant in Bath for many years. He was a life member of the Bath B.P.O.E. 1547, past member of the Marconi Lodge, Bath Rod and Gun Club and the Glenwood Club. He started the Snowmobile Rescue Squad in Bath. Sam enjoyed hunting and fishing and playing cards, and he was exceptional at wood working. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn D'Angelo, son Joseph C. (Kay) D'Angelo, daughter Mary Jean 'MJ' D'Angelo, step children, Lisa (Bob) Wood and Scott (Kathy) Pieri; grandson, Anthony D'Angelo (Mary Harper); step grandchildren, Robert and Julianna Wood, Lindsay, Jenna and Lucas Pieri, sister, Mildered 'Millie' LaTempio and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Joanne D'Angelo, sons, Charles 'CJ' and Albert D'Angelo and step-son Mark Pieri and brothers, Carl and Angelo D'Angelo.
Calling hours will be held on Friday December 21, 2018 from 2:00-4:00 pm at Fagan's Funeral Home in Bath followed by an Elks service at 3:45 pm and funeral service at 4:00 with Pastor Chris Hufnagel officiating. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorials in Sam's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org.
